Obituary for Regina Sarah Creighton

Regina Sarah (MacNeil) Creighton, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Sharon. She was the daughter of the late Hector and Catherine (MacNeil) MacNeil.

Regina was born on November 2, 1933 in New Waterford, N.S., Canada. She and her husband Louis were married at St. Mary’s Church in Brookline on October 5, 1958. She has been a Foxborough resident for the past six years and was formerly of Avon for over fifty years.

Regina was a former cook at the West Gate Chapel in Brockton and was a former employee at Saphire Manor in Sharon. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and drawing. A devout Catholic, Regina was a former Sunday School teacher at St. Michael’s Parish in Avon and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Beloved wife of Louis J. Creighton, Sr. Loving mother of Catherine Nistendirk and her partner Wayne Donohue of Middleboro, Judith Mercuri and her husband Jerry of Sharon and Louis J. Creighton, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Raynham. Devoted grandmother of eleven and great grandmother of four. One of eight children, she is survived by Madeline McCarthy and Anna Leaver, both of Cape Breton, Canada. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her grandson, Stephen Mercuri.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, July 6 from 5 to 8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
