Obituary for Frederick C. Freeman, Jr.

Frederick C. Freeman, Jr., age 97, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was the son of the late Frederick and Maude (Hayes) Freeman.

Fred was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 27, 1920 and was raised in Riverton, NJ. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and attained the rank of Staff Sargent . He and his wife D. Marjorie (Nace) were married in Palmira, NJ on June 23, 1945. They and their two daughters resided in New Jersey and later Massachusetts.

He was a graduate of Ryder College in New Jersey. In addition to spending time with family and friends he enjoyed woodworking and restoring antique furniture. A baseball enthusiast, Fred played in New Jersey and later became a loyal Red Sox fan. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Valley of Boston Lodge A.F. and A.M.

Beloved husband of the late D, Marjorie (Nace) Freeman. Loving father of Dorothy M. Nelson of Norton and Barbara P. Niemann and her husband William of Mansfield. Devoted grandfather of Craig C. Nelson, Amy N. Cachet and her husband C.J., Amanda D. Macomber and her husband Jeff and Jason E. Niemann and his girlfriend Shannon. Great-grandfather of Ethan C. Meisner-Nelson and Lucas H. Macomber. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sister Maude Coles.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, 319 High Street in Canton.
