Obituary for Nathan "Red" Gordon

Nathan “Red” Gordon, age 84, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Westwood. He was the son of the late Mary (Shaw) Gordon and the husband of the late Joanne L. (Simonton) Gordon.

Red was born in Saco, ME on January 16, 1934 where he graduated from Thornton Academy. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He married his late wife Joanne in Maine on September 18, 1954. He has been a Foxborough resident since 1959.

Red was employed as a service man for Sears and Robuck in Natick for many years. He was a member of the New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church in Attleboro. A handyman, Red loved to take care of his property in Foxborough and donate his time in the maintenance of his church. He loved to plow snow with his tractor, taking care of snow removal for his neighbors and friends. He was an avid New England Patriots fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox.

Beloved father of Julie Jones of Franklin, Michael Gordon of Foxborough, Susan Parker and her husband Gregory of Westwood, Scott Gordon of Westwood and Gregory Gordon of Stoughton. Loving grandfather of CJ, Colin, Cale, Dakota, Cody, Kayla and Ashley. Adoring great grandfather of Cale Evan. Brother of Glen Shorey, Noreen Parker and Tony Gordon.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling on Thursday, December 6 from 4 to 7 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
