Obituary for Mary P. McDavitt

Mary Patricia (Thomas) McDavitt, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Edwin B. and Ida J. (Luniewicz) Thomas.

Mary was born on November 3, 1941 in Boston. She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s School of Nursing and Stonehill College. Mary was employed for several years as a nurse and retired from the Milford VNA. Mary was an avid reader, gardener and knitter. She was a strong supporter of music and the arts. She was a long-time communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough and had a very deep faith. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Loving mother of Brian McDavitt and his wife Michelle of Portland, OR, Steven McDavitt of Bonneau, SC, John McDavitt and his partner Christine Silver of Northbridge, Tammy and her husband Rich Ward of Westfield, Michelle McDavitt of Blackstone, Karen and her husband Todd Phillips of Foxborough and the late Kevin McDavitt. Devoted grandmother of 22 and great grandmother of 8. Sister of Ann Thomas of Foxborough and Helena Effgan of Oakbrook, IL. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours at 8 AM on Saturday, January 5 at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough.
