Obituary for Leonard E. Donovan, Jr.

Leonard E. Donovan, age 84, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Norwood Hospital. He was the son of the late Leonard and Anna (Campbell) Donovan.

Leonard was born on November 26, 1934 in Boston. He proudly served his country in the Korean War in as a Navy Corpsman with the US Marine Corps. He was employed as a lithographer for Sherman Imperial of Boston and later Regal Press of Norwood. Leonard was a former member of the Walpole Sportsman Club and Archery Club. He was a former boxing coach at the Sharon Recreational Center. He loved the outdoors, woodworking and was a former member of the swimming team for the Boston Boy’s Club. He most enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.

Loving former husband of Shirley (Caudle) Donovan. Beloved father of Debra and her husband John Zahner of Franklin, Richard Donovan of Sharon, Linda and her husband John Tisevich of North Attleboro and Timothy Donovan and his wife Lorraine of Foxborough. Devoted grandfather of eleven and great grandfather of nine. Brother of Dorothy Rosenberg, Kathleen MacPherson and Robert Donovan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 9 AM on Friday, December 21 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage Street, Sharon, MA. Interment to follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
