Obituary for Joan Ann Smith

Joan Ann (Palermo) Smith, age 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the comfort of her loving family on April 28, 2019 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln. She was the daughter of the late Frank Palermo and Mildred (Driver) Granger.

Joan was born on December 12, 1939 in Boston and was a graduate of the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Boston. She married her husband Frank Smith on June 3, 1961 in West Roxbury. Joan was a member of the Quincy Deaf Club and was an avid bowler and bingo player. She loved going on ocean cruises. She was an avid New England sports fan. Joan enjoyed visits to Foxwoods and loved her cats. Joan most enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Beloved wife of Frank Smith. Devoted mother of Ronald Smith and Deborah Smith, both of Foxborough. Loving grandmother of Kendrah, Brent and Samantha. Sister of Jacqueline Nickerson of Naples, FL and the late June Flaherty and George Palermo.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, May 4 from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM immediately following calling hours at the funeral home. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
