Obituary for Elinor C. Gallagher

Elinor C. (Findlen) Gallagher, age 77, passed away surrounded by the comfort of her loving family on September 20, 2018 at the Blaire House of Milford. She was the daughter of the late Fred J. and Marion (Curtis) Findlen.

Elinor was born on February 21, 1941 in Boston. She was a graduate of Dean Junior College and Bridgewater State University. She was employed for many years as the office manager for Cross Contracting Corp. of Plainville. Preciously she had been employed at Small’s Greenhouse in Foxborough. She married her husband Phil on June 29, 1963.

Elinor was an avid gardener and loved to read. She enjoyed playing tennis and loved animals. She was the captain of her high school cheerleading squad in Dedham and also played field hockey. Elinor was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Beloved wife of Philip Gallagher. Devoted mother of Theresa Craig of Bellingham and the late Patrick Gallagher. Grandmother of Samuel, Caitlin, Kevin and Dru. Great grandmother of Avery. Sister of the late Joseph Findlen and his wife Mary of Bourne, Robert Findlen and his wife Peggy of Canton, Fred P. Findlen of Dedham and his late wife Rosella, Marion Power of Dedham and her late husband Jack, James Findlen of Ashburnham, Diane Garrow and her husband Charlie of North Attleboro, the late Peter Findlen and the late Leo Findlen. She was the loving aunt of thirty nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, September 24 from 4 to 7 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Martha Catholic Church, 227 South Street, Plainville, MA 02762. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
