Obituary for Romeo "Ray" Godin

Romeo “Ray” Godin, age 95, of Foxborough, formerly of Hyde Park and Falmouth, passed
away January 11,2018 at The Norwood Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Romeo and Yvonne (Gauthier) Godin and the loving husband for 61 years to the late Frances (Shurick) Godin.

Romeo was born on December 29, 1922 in Millville. He proudly served 4 years in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed as a head custodian for the City of Boston Public School System for many years until his retirement over 35 years ago. He was a member of VFW Post 6342 and a long time officer & volunteer with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball league. He was a fanatic New England & Boston sports fan; especially of the Boston Red Sox. Romeo was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Loving father of Linda and her husband Richard D’Intinosanto of Bellingham, Beverly and her husband Edmund Rautenberg of Falmouth and Florida, Ann Godin and her partner Jeanne McAllister of Falmouth, Ellen and her husband Tom Burke of Foxborough and Raymond and his wife Theresa Godin of Canton. Loving Papa of nine grandchildren six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Brother of Pauline Jolicoeur of Woonsocket, and the late Doris Beauchemin, Roger Godin, Paul Godin and Evelyn Leduc. Brother in law of Kathleen Craven of N. Smithfiled, RI, Ollie Godin of Uxbridge and the late Eleanor Ranieri.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, January 17 from 4 to 8PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 18 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
