Obituary for Mary-Judith (Swift) Desrocher

Mary-Judith (Swift) Desrocher, 54, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 23, 2018, with family by her side, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was the wife of Brian Desrocher for 27 years and the daughter of the late Howard “Bud” Swift and Marjorie (McFaul) Swift.

Mary was born August 20, 1963, in Norwood, Massachusetts, and was a 1981 graduate of Foxboro High School. After starting a family and working several years at the Foxboro Company, she moved to North Carolina in 2000, where she ran a Walmart bakery for 13 years. She was recently the beloved cook at the Rainbow Childcare Center, where she loved many children like they were her own.

Mary lit up every room she entered and had the ability to make anyone laugh and smile. Her mother’s touch made everyone feel like family. Mary was a true warrior throughout her battle with Stage 4 lung cancer.

Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Mary is survived by four daughters, Danielle, Shannon, Alison, and Alexis, all of North Carolina, and two grandchildren, Harper and Kaiden. She is also survived by a sister Eileen Dacosta and her husband Dinis of Foxboro, and brothers Robert Swift of Foxboro, William Swift of Attleboro, Michael Swift and his wife Wendy of Fall River, and Jim Swift and his wife Lisa of Holliston. She will also be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, September 8, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a memorial service, at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro.

To send an online condolence, please visit the funeral home website at www.robertsandsonsfuneralhome.com. For additional information, please contact 508-543-5471.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to the American Lung Association 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601
