Obituary for Elaine E. Higgins

Elaine Evangeline (LaRosee) Higgins, age 92, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Doolittle Home in Foxborough. She was the daughter of the late Waldon and Lena (Cormier) LaRosee.

Elaine was born on August 15, 1925 in Waltham and was a graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1943. She was a retired administrative assistant for the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Boston and was a former employee of MARC in Newton. She was a former long-time resident of Auburndale and Pocasset. She has been a resident of the Doolittle Home in Foxborough for the past four years.

Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family at her home on Cape Cod and was active with the Bourne Council On Aging Program. She was an avid snowmobiler and enjoyed knitting. She was most happy when spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Beloved mother of John Higgins and his wife Sandra of Bellingham and William Higgins of Newton. Loving grandmother of Adam Higgins and his wife Amy of Foxborough, Christopher Higgins and his wife Catherine Hawley Higgins of LaJunta, CO and Matthew Higgins and his wife Stephanie of Weymouth. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Waldon LaRosee.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, February 18 from 2 to 4 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial Services will be private. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
