Obituary for Charles "Slug" Curtis

Charles “Slug” R. Curtis, age 87 passed away on January 10, 2018 at the Village at Willow Crossing in Mansfield. He was the son of the late Carl and Hazel (Thomas) Curtis.

Slug was born on December 28, 1930 in Speed, IN. He married his wife, Jane (Scully) Curtis on June 13, 1959 in Dallas, TX. Slug proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Purdue University and was employed as a sales engineer for the former Foxboro Company for many years. Slug was a former Deacon at the Bethany Congregational Church in Foxborough and was a life-long member of the Foxboro Country Club. He was a former member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed biking, especially traveling through Europe on his bike. Slug most enjoyed spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Jane Curtis. Devoted father of Karen Curtis-Craney and her husband Thomas of MD and Nancy Sparks and her husband Andy of CT. Loving grandfather of Tyler and Travis Craney and Emily and Michael Sparks. Brother of Joyce Hecker of IN and the late Carl and Melvin Curtis.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday,January 13, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at the Bethany Congregational Church, 3 Rockhill Street, Foxborough, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM.
