Foxborough – Harold “Harry” John Gately, age 56, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. He was the son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth (Rogers) Gately.
Harry was born in Norwood on March 1, 1961 and was a graduate of Foxborough High School, Class of 1978. He was a resident of North Attleboro for several years.
Harry was a self-employed interior house painter. He enjoyed playing darts, was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his beloved friends and family. He was a former member of the Foxborough Fish and Game and was an avid Bruins and New England Patriots fan. Harry adored his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and was referred to as "Great" Uncle Harry. He will be remembered by those who loved him by his constant smile, his sense of humor, his selflessness, his joy of life and his love of his family.
Beloved brother of Barbara Monaco and her husband George of West Bridgewater, David Gately of Foxborough and the late James A., Frederick P., Richard R., Kenneth J., Michael F. and Patricia Gately. Loving nephew of Ruth Trout of NH and Peggy Kiatos of Melrose.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, March 6 from 4 to 8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Immediately following the mass family and friends are invited to Fitzy's Pub in Plainville for a reception. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
