BANNAN, THERESA J. “TERRY” (ROCHE), 97, of Providence, died peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on February 18, 2017. Terry, who grew up in Foxboro, was the 6th of 11 children born to David Cornelius and Mary Frances (Gill) Roche in Boston on October 8, 1919. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Bannan III.
Terry is survived by her loving daughter Beryl Kenyon (Jeffrey), adored grandsons Joshua (Hope) of Atlanta, and Zachariah (India), Providence Fire Department, and her 5 cherished great granddaughters, Nina, Eliza, Morgan, Lillianna and Abigail who were the joy of her life.
Perhaps Terry’s most enduring legacy is giving 3 generations a love of Vermont during magical times at her summer home in West Dummerston, hiking the mountains, exploring Brattleboro, and swimming under the covered bridge.
Terry is also survived by her beloved sister Carol Jane Skinner, Brockton, adored sisters-in-law Nicky Roche, Foxboro, and Joanne Roche, Franklin, and best friend Barbara Walmsley, Providence.
She is predeceased by her brothers Paul, Francis, Robert, Henry, Vincent, William and Neil Roche, and sisters Anne Kennedy and Margaret Wellman.
Family members are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Foxboro, on Saturday, February 25, 10 AM.
