Ida Mae Warner

Foxborough - Ida Mae (McDonald) Warner, age 76, died of complications from Lewy Body Disease on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at her home, surrounded by the comfort of her loving family.

Ida was born in Erie, PA on May 17, 1935. She was a graduate of St. Vincent High School, Class of 1951 and attended Nyack College in NY. She and her husband Arthur were married on July 30, 1955 at the Erie Gospel Tabernacle in PA. She has been a Foxborough resident for over 31 years.

Ida was the wife of Rev. Arthur Warner, former pastor of the Church of Emmanuel, Christian and Missionary Alliance in Foxborough where she assisted her husband in pastoral counseling and youth ministry. An extraordinary organizer, Ida spearheaded and ran countless programs that benefited generations of children, teenagers and young adults. She served as a mentor, coach, counselor and teacher of many. With unusual open-hearted hospitality, she maintained an open-door policy, hosting hundreds of events in her home and church. Ida also had a passion for international missions, and spent tremendous energy supporting the needs of those overseas.

She contributed to the local community in various ways, including serving on the Foxborough Advisory Committee for several years. A gifted singer, she sang regularly with various choirs, including the Ralph Farris Chorale and the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra, performing locally as well as internationally. She also worked part-time for Northeastern University in the postal and registrar’s offices. Ida loved puzzles, crosswords, cards games, quilting, time with her grandchildren and fun! She traveled extensively with her husband and enjoyed an expansive collection of friends across the country and internationally.

Beloved mother of Ricky Ann and her husband David Sidoruk of Foxborough and Marlene Joye Travis of Ellensburg, WA . Loving grandmother of Stephanie, Sondra and her husband Mario, Mark, Darek, Marshall, Daniella and Matthew and great grandmother of Vivia Bella. Devoted daughter of Virginia (Haupt) McDonald of PA and the late Raymond McDonald. Sister of Ruth Ann Allison of OH and David McDonald of PA.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, December 26 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at the Church of Emmanuel, Christian and Missionary Alliance, 106 Central Street , Foxborough. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 11 am at Church of Emmanuel , Christian and Missionary Alliance, 106 Central Street , Foxborough. Interment will be private.
