Devoted Father and Grandfather Foxborough – Robert V. Shea, age 82, died surrounded by the comfort of his loving family on January 1, 2010. Bob was the son of the late Patrick F. and Margaret (Merz) Shea.
Bob was born on August 9, 1927 in Rosedale Long Island. He was a graduate of Rosedale High School and attended agricultural college in NY. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII.
Bob was very involved in the Foxborough community. He was a past master of the Grange and was one of the originators of the Foxborough Farm Stand. He was a member of the Foxborough American Legion Post 93, Knights of Columbus #6063, Saint Alban’s Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Foxborough, St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough and the Aleppo Shrine of Wilmington.
Beloved father of Anne Marie Henri and her husband David of Foxborough and their children David, Michael and Shane who lovingly cared for Bob this year in their home, Donna Shea Abney and her husband Paul of MO, Louise Medlin and her husband Ted of FL, Robert P. Shea and his wife Jill of VT, Kevin T. Shea of VT and the late James J. Shea. Devoted grandfather of Christopher and Brian Shea and Courtney and Chelsea Shea and Kathy Shea. Also survived by his sister Patricia Jantzen of Florida, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, January 4 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 5 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Fxoborough. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
