Active Foxborough Senior Volunteer Foxborough-Dorothy M. Stubbs, age 91, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Guy and Elizabeth (Wilkins) Aylward.
Dorothy was born in Perry, Maine on February 11, 1918. She was a graduate of Canton High School and attended both Burdett College in Boston and Middlesex Community College in Bedford. She was a former long time resident of Canton and has been a Foxborough resident since 1986.
Dorothy was a social worker for the Medfield State Hospital for over 10 years. She was a past Grand Noble of the Rebbecca’s Lodge in Canton. She was also a member of the Salvation Army at Camp Wonderland in Sharon, Serenading Seniors in Foxborough, past president of the Foxborough Senior Housing Assoc. and a member of the Senior Tenants Assoc in Foxborough.
She was a member of the Friends of Foxborough Seniors, Inc. She was member of Bethany Congregational Church in Foxborough were she was a former deacon, past president of the Womens Union, member of the Afternoon Division and was a teacher for Leisure Learning.
Beloved mother of Ellen L. and her husband Paul Dean of Foxborough. Loving grandmother of Jaime E. Dean of Norton. Sister of Guy Aylward Jr. of FL, Harding Aylward of FL and loving aunt of Carol Eckhardt of Walpole.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, January 25, from 3 to 7 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxborough. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Bethany Congregational Church, 3 Rock Hill St. in Foxborough center. Interment to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
