James Francis McNabb

Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather Foxborough-James Francis McNabb, age 88, died on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. He was the son of the late James and Agnes (Hughes) McNabb.
James was born in Roslindale on April 6, 1921 and was a graduate of North Eastern Technical Institute in Boston. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He fought in the Guadalcanal campaign and was the recipient of the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
James and his wife Rose Marie were married in May of 1945 at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury. They raised their family in Foxborough where they have resided for over 47 years.
James worked as a switchman for many years for New England Telegraph and Telephone. He loved Cape Cod and was a resident of Yarmouth Port for over ten years before moving back to Foxborough. He enjoyed quiet and solitude and was an avid reader. He was a history buff and enjoyed walking and frequent visits to the gym. He was a devote husband, father and grandfather.
Beloved husband of Rose Marie (Delaney) McNabb. Loving father of Mary McNabb-Bentley and her husband Robert of Paso Robles, CA, Kathleen Fuller and her husband David of Franklin, James McNabb of Palmdale, CA, Robert McNabb of Portland, OR, and Eileen McNabb-Pantos and her husband George of Norfolk. Brother of Marie McNabb of Marlborough, Paula Ippolito of Hudson and Anthony McNabb of Sandwich. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral Information
Calling hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend funeral services beginning at 9 AM on Monday, December 21, at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxboro followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 53 Carpenter St. in Foxborough. Interment service with United Sates Marine Honors to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxborough.
