James R. Lavery

James Robert Lavery, age 75, Died at his home on Tuesday November 15, surrounded by the comfort of his loving Family. Mr. Lavery was the son of the late John and Catherine (McGhee) Lavery.
James was born in Brookline on June 24, 1930 where he was a graduate of Brookline High School. James honorably served his country as a sergeant in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. James and his wife Marie F. (Salter) were married at Mission Church in Roxbury on September 10, 1955. James worked for 38 years for Barnstead, Co. in Boston and retired from the Boston Gas, Co. in 1995.
James was an avid sports fan and during the 1970’s was a coach for the Foxboro Pop Warner Football League. James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and cherished his many nieces and nephews.
James was the loving husband of Marie F. (Salter) Lavery. Loving Father of William J. Lavery of Plainville, Constance A. and her husband John Stather of Foxboro, James G. and his wife Catherine of Whitman, Susan M. and her husband Greg Rondeau of Franklin and Michael F. and his wife Kerry of Foxboro. Brother of Grace Cataldo of East Boston, Lawrence Lavery of North Hampton, NH and pre-deceased in death by 10 brothers and sisters. He was also a devoted grandfather of nine.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday November 18, from 4-8 pm at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street Foxboro. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxboro.
