Lois Winifred Lord

Longtime Walpole Resident

Walpole – Lois Winifred (Johnson) Lord age 87 died on August 25, 2010 at Epoch Nursing Home in Sharon. Born in Boston on February 4, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Roy P. Johnson and Isabelle (Mitchell) Johnson. She attended Dedham High School and Graduated with the Class of 1940. She has been a resident of Walpole for 55 years and is a member of the United Church of Walpole.

Lois was married to Joseph S. Lord of Dedham in San Francisco in January 1951. Her husband was in the U.S. Navy at the time. They took up housekeeping in Albany, California and returned to Dedham in late 1951. In 1955 they had a home built in Walpole. Lois was predeceased by her two sisters, Isabelle Decelle and Marjorie Rohrbach both were of Foxborough, MA. She is survived by her husband Joseph, her son Stephen of Mansfield MA his fiancée Ann Rubenstein and her two daughters, Alyson and Brittney plus many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed her many trips to Europe, Bermuda, and the western United States with her husband and friends. Lois was a member of Riverdale (Dedham) Sewing Club for many years and the Bow Lake Camp Owners Association. She was a loving and caring person and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Funeral Information

Visiting Hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday August 27, 2010 at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home at 30 South Street Foxborough, MA. Friends and relatives are invited to a pre-burial service at the Roberts Funeral Home on Saturday Aug, 28 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, MA.
