Elizabeth "Betty" A. Chase

December 16, 1927 - January 26, 2012

Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Foxborough - Elizabeth "Betty" A. Chase, age 84, died on Thursday, January 26, 2012 surrounded by the comfort of her loving family in Exeter, NH. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Svensson) Olaussen.

Betty was born on December 16, 1927 in New Bedford. She earned a BS in Bacteriology from UMASS Amherst, Class of 1949. She and her husband George were married on July 31, 1949 in Rochester, MA and have been married for sixty two and a half years. She was formerly employed as a bio-technician in Pittsburgh, PA, was a substitute teacher and homemaker.

Betty was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, reading, studying the Swedish language, knitting and playing bridge. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former member of the Bethany Congregational Church Board of Deacons, Chairman of the Religious Education Committee, President and Honorary Member of the Foxborough Monday Club and was an Adult Literacy Volunteer for 10 years.

Beloved wife of George Chase. Devoted mother of Stephen G. Chase of IL, Susan E. Chase of OK, Carl H. Chase of NJ and Cynthia Chase Keating of ME. Adoring grandmother of Carl and Natalie Chase, Marie Chase Anderson, Alex, Zachary and Mathew Chase and Caitlin, Ryan and Hannah Keating. Sister of Connie Pallatroni of Mattapoisett and the late Swen Olaussen.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 3 from 4 to 7 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 11 am at the funeral home. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
