Robert B. Elder

Foxborough – Robert B. Elder, age 83, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 26, 2009. He was the son of the late David and Elizabeth (Roath) Elder.

Bob was born on December 1, 1926 in Boston. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed as a shipping foreman at Stride Rite in Roxbury.

Bob was a past commander of the Foxborough American Legion, a member of the Mansfield Elks and the Foxborough Fish and Game. He loved traveling to Las Vegas and was an avid Patriots fan.

Former husband of the late Mary (McDonough) and Josephine (DeMarco) Elder. Loving father of Donna Richardson and her husband Gary of Foxborough, Linda Richardson of Mansfield and her late husband Leroy, Charles Elder and his wife Theresa of Norton, Vincent Elder and his wife Susan of North Attleboro and Laura Elder and her boyfriend Thomas Stella of Mansfield. Former father in law of Terri Elder of Quincy. Long time companion of Gerry Brissette of Foxborough. Adoring grandfather of Robin and Sara Elder of Quincy, Olivia and Rebecca Richardson of Foxborough, Josephine Elder of Mansfield, Nicole Elder of Norton and Ashlee Elder of Mansfield. Brother of Lawrence Elder of NY. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 31 at 11 am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 83 South Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxborough.
