Arthur L. Carbone

Foxborough – Arthur Louis Carbone, Jr., age 85, died at his home surrounded by the comfort of his loving family on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Arthur was the son of the late Arthur Louis, Sr. and Matilda (Raffi) Carbone.

Arthur was born on July 1, 1925 in Arlington, MA. He was a graduate of Harvard University , Class of 1947 and proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He married his wife Catherine “Kitty” (Larkin) Carbone on April 27, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Church in Malden, MA. He was employed as a land surveyor with the Boston Survey Consultants for over twenty five years. Arthur and Kitty have been Foxborough residents for the past fifty three years.

Arthur loved the outdoors and frequently hiked in the Gilbert State Forest in Foxborough. He enjoyed playing tennis, skiing and canoeing the lakes and rivers of New England. He was a quiet man who lived for his family.

Beloved husband of Catherine “Kitty” (Larkin) Carbone of Foxborough. Loving father of Gerald A. and his wife Elynn Carbone of Alpharetta, GA, James L. Carbone of Foxborough and Barbara Traphagen of Foxborough. Devoted grandfather of Casey, Katrina and Kevin of GA and Ashley of Mansfield. Brother of the late Pauline Govoni.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxborough with U.S. military honors.
