Nettie Anne Radford

December 10, 1918 - January 17, 2009

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Nettie Anne (Garrison) Radford, age 90, died surrounded by the comfort of her loving family at Caritas Norwood Hospital on Saturday, January 17, 2009. Nettie was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine (Gavutis) Garrison.

Nettie was born on December 10, 1918 in Wasson, IL. She spent most of her youth in Lawrence, MA. Nettie was a graduate of the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a nurse practitioner. For several years she worked in the National Health Service providing care for underserved regions throughout the US.

Nettie enjoyed traveling, reading, playing games with family and friends, art and classical music. She marched with Dr. Martin Luther King in Selma, AL. Nettie had a lifelong love of learning.

Former wife of the late Dr. Edward P. Radford. Loving mother of Dr. Martha Jo Radford and her husband Dr. Louis G. Graff, IV, of Farmington, CT, and New York, NY, George Leslie Radford and his wife Dr. Patti Nelson Andrews of Brentwood, NH, Donna Patterson and her husband Dr. William Patterson of Grand Junction, CO, and Catherine Radford and her husband William Brassil of Charlestown, MA. Beloved grandmother of six and great grandmother of two, beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. One of ten children, she is survived by her sister Georgia Bruwer of Leominster, MA.
