Jane E. Nicholson

August 21, 1928 - March 10, 2017

Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Jane E. (Chandler) Nicholson, age 88, died March 10, 2017 at the Reservoir Center for Health & Rehabilitation following a brief illness, with her daughter Kathy holding her hand.  She was the daughter of the late SW and Miriam (Cromack) Chandler.

Jane was born on August 21, 1928 in Shelbourne Falls, MA and grew up in Spencer, MA.   Formerly of Foxborough, she was the wife of the late Thomas J. Nicholson, Jr.

Loving mother to Mary E. and husband  Lou Dodds of Canada, Thomas J. Nicholson III and his wife Lolita of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael J. Nicholson of Attleboro, Kathleen L. and her husband Russell Fullerton of Clinton, Stephen J. Nicholson of Goleta, CA, William T. and his wife Jill Cummings of West Boylston and the late Patricia J. who was married to Leo M. Jacobs.  Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 foster grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Sister of Margaret Keirstead of Plympton and the late William Chandler. 

A graduate of David Prouty High School and Becker Jr. College, she was a medical assistant at Norwood Hospital for many years.  She also worked for Kraft/Heinz for many years and retired in 1983.  She was a former President of the Foxboro and Sharon Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and American Legion.  Jane was a life-long Boston Red Sox fan; one of her biggest thrills was watching them win the World Series.  She was also an avid reader. 

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours at the Roberts and Sons funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough on Wednesday, March 15 from 4 to 8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough at 10 AM.  Interment to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.  For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.  To light a special candle in Jane’s memory please visit the funeral home web site at www.robertsandsonsfuneralhome.com
